Founded by Sally Timmons in 2007, CommonPlace accommodates four artist’s studios in the two top floors of a Georgian building at no.10 Burgh Quay, in Dublin’s City Centre. Seven visual artists have inhabited the building since May 2007 and a project space,
CommonPlace Amateur Projects [CPAP], is located in Studio One on the second floor.
CommonPlace Amateur Projects functions as a studio, project and exhibition space. CPAP commissions the production of new work by visual artists. The limited edition series are available for purchase during exhibitions or by viewing a back catalogue of previously commissioned artworks. CPAP will continue to host seminars, screenings, seances and artist-led events.
CPAP’s published series will commence in 2008.
