Founded by Sally Timmons in 2007, CommonPlace accommodates four artist’s studios in the two top floors of a Georgian building at no.10 Burgh Quay, in Dublin’s City Centre. Seven visual artists have inhabited the building since May 2007 and a project space, CommonPlace Amateur Projects [CPAP], is located in Studio One on the second floor.

CommonPlace Amateur Projects functions as a studio, project and exhibition space. CPAP commissions the production of new work by visual artists. The limited edition series are available for purchase during exhibitions or by viewing a back catalogue of previously commissioned artworks. CPAP will continue to host seminars, screenings, seances and artist-led events.

CPAP’s published series will commence in 2008.

To get to CommonPlace stand on the south side of O’Connell bridge looking at the ‘spire’. Turn right and look at Liberty Hall. Walk east towards Liberty Hall on Burgh Quay, our door is beside Bermingham Cameras.

CommonPlace Amateur Projects is open on Saturdays during exhibitions.
